Hotels in Amalfi

Amalfi is one of the most famous stretches of coastline in the world - having been used as a choice location in several major films over the last 50 years. Historically a powerful maritime republic, today this idyllic coastal drive on the southern edge of the Sorrentine Peninsular is one of Italy's most popular tourist destinations.

Thanks to its handy location in a region with everything that the south of Italy is famous for - the clear, warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, arguably the finest cuisine in the world (particularly seafood) and that unmistakeable southern Italian hospitality and way of life allows people here more longevity of life than anywhere else in the world.

The perfectly preserved ruins of Pompeii are a short car journey away, as are those of Ercolana, another town destroyed by the volcano although less well preserved. A short ferry ride takes us to the sublime islands of Capri or Ischia and a 2-hour train ride takes us to Rome - the eternal city and unforgettable capital of Italy.
