Milan is the
richest city in Italy and is a very popular city for business
exhibitions and trade fairs. However, it is also a fun city
and the shopping in Milan is amongst the best in the world
with every household designer name like Gucci, Prada, Versace,
Armani etc all choosing Milan as the city to host their flagship
stores.
Artistic attractions and places of cultural interest are
also to be found in abundance with the most popular attraction
- with in excess of 10 thousand visitors a day - is undoubtedly
the Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci which is located in the
church of Santa Maria delle Grazie in the historical centre
of Milan. Other places of historical interest are of course
the Duomo, La Scala Opera House and the Galleria of Vittorio
Emanuele. The Castello di Sforzesco and the Navigli canals
are definitely worth a visit. Finally, it wouldn't be right
to talk about Milan without failing to mention the two football
teams AC Milan and Inter who are two of the best clubs in
Italy if not the world. The stadium where they play the Giuseppe
Meazza or San Siro is a architectural masterpiece and has
been used as a blueprint for stadia around the world.
The zona fiera or fair ground area was relocated to Pero-Rho
which is the last stop on line 1 i.e. the red line. The new
Fiera Milano is only an additional 20 minutes from the old
exhibition centre now called Fieramilanocity which will still
be used for lesser important fairs.
The hotels below have been marked in terms of their location
