Venice is situated on a group of one hundred and eighteen small islands, separated by canals and linked by over 400 bridges. Celebrated for its art and architecture, the city hosts up to sixty thousand tourists per day with numerous attractions including St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco. Autumn may still be high season in Venice but be sure to take full advantage of the nightlife once the visitors from the many cruise ships have re-embarked. In addition there are multiple events in music, art and culture to chose from during the season.
